Designed for students aged 15-17, Paramedic Camp provides aspiring healthcare professionals and future first responders with the opportunity to explore a career in paramedicine through hands-on learning, interactive workshops and real-world experiences alongside MLPS paramedics and community partners.
Throughout the week, participants will build practical skills while gaining a firsthand understanding of the teamwork, critical thinking, and compassion required to deliver emergency medical care. Working alongside our MLPS paramedics and our partners in emergency service, campers will experience what it takes to serve their communities.
As part of the program, participants will earn their Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR certification, leaving camp with tangible life-saving skills that can help them for years to come.
Activities throughout the week include:
• Hands-on paramedic skills and medical simulations
• Interactive workshops with our emergency service partners
• Educational experiences with our partners in healthcare
• Team-building activities and scenario-based learning
“Paramedic Camp is one of the highlights of the year – it gives young people the opportunity to experience the paramedic profession in a meaningful and engaging way,” said Adam Bennett, Chief of the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service. “Whether they pursue a career in paramedicine, healthcare, or another field, we hope they leave with new skills, greater confidence and an appreciation for the dedicated professionals who serve our communities everyday.”
Paramedic Camp reflects MLPS’s ongoing commitment to community education, youth engagement and inspiring the next generation to consider a career in emergency services and healthcare.
